Buttermilk Pancakes

Indulge in the simple pleasure of Buttermilk Pancakes and start your day with a smile. The magic ingredient, our LardAss cultured buttermilk, lends a tangy twist that perfectly complements the sweetness. 


  • 175g plain flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 25g LardAss cultured salted butter, melted
  • 300ml LardAss cultured buttermilk


  • STEP 1

    Put 175g plain flour, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp baking powder, 1 tbsp caster sugar and 1 tsp vanilla essence in a food processor and blend. Add 2 egg yolks, 25g melted butter, and 300ml cultured buttermilk, then blend to a smooth batter. Whisk 2 egg whites in a bowl to soft peaks, then fold into the batter.

  • STEP 2

    Heat a little oil in a pan. Ladle in the batter to make pancakes about 10cm in diameter. Cook for about 1 minute until the tops are set and little holes appear in the surface. Flip the pancakes over then brown lightly on the other side.

    Serve with maple syrup, or a topping of your choice.
